The Marie Antoinette Syndrome

Our government is not only thinking up laws, but also enacting them to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. The major responsibility lies with George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and our Congress who are afflicted with the Marie Antoinette Syndrome, “let them eat cake.”

Right now there seems to be no cure for this malady. The poor who suffer the most do not have the means, and the middle class think they are immune to the devastation the Syndrome will cause. Perhaps both should consult with the French people—didn’t they once have a similar problem in 1789?
